A great and must read article: 1970 camaro

Q: How much is a 1970 chevy camaro worth?
okay its a 70 chevy camaro with engine problems, not the original paint, has primer spots in ALOT of places, it has shaved door handles wich i know lowers the value, has no door panels on the inside, does not have the original front seats, does not have the original hood, has no side windows and is missing exterior chrome pieces. How much would u say its worth??? PLEASE ANSWER….

A: damn, all that sounds like is a project car. i hope you’re not buying that as a daily driver. no more than 6 to 7 hundred dollars in current condition. those interior parts are going to cost an arm leg and a small child…and are VERY hard to find. But when theyre 80% restored, the value can easily jump to around 13-14k. If you’re looking to restore this car, then by all means, go for it.

Q: Pre- 1970 camaro trany conversion?
would it be hard to convert an automatic pre-1970 chevy camaro to a manual? can’t i just change the tranny while i do an engine swap at the same time? I want to put in a modern big-block v8, or smallblock from the ls series. It’s jus that even the really bad condition ones with manual mark up their prices so high. The automatic would open the range to more cars and auto seem to be cheaper onthe used car market

A: to change to manual trans you all clutch pedal and linkage bell housing shift linkage and drive sfaft . to change to late model engine big or small block you need engine complette with all wire and computer and ign switch and fuel tank you will need to run fuel return line to tank if you plan to run inject if you plan to run carb on late engine you will need to change ign system to hei so make shure engine has distrib drive some tpi engine have no place for distrib or drive off oil pump if you plan on auto match engine to trans or use r trans and have trans shop modify to hyd lock up convertor 1 st and 2 nd gen cameros with 502 carb and t 5 or t6 are nice road cars lots of power and with alum heads and manifolds water pump etc weigh little more than 350 i have 97 with 502 6 speed richmond holley inj car air and ps work

Q: I want to buy a Camaro but I can’t decide whether I should buy a 1970 or 1969? Which car is better looking?
I can’t decide whether I should buy a 1969 Chevy Camaro or a 1970. I am going to fix them up the same regardless. The problem is that I can buy the 1970 now, no problem because my neighbor has one that I can buy. But after I saw the 1969 I thought it was better looking and I felt like I should buy that one instead. But I don’t know where there is one for sale and I don’t want to risk my chances of not buying the ‘70 and waiting for a ‘69 to pass. I need help looking for a ‘69.

Q: I’m trying to remember a movie from the 1970’s where a guy had this orange chevy camaro with a card on doors!
The card was either an ace of spades or jack of spades or something like that. Real action of car chases with police!

A: was it Eat my Dust?

Q: Comprehensive Repair guide for Camaro?
Looking for a good comprehensive repair guide for a 1970 Chevy Camaro. Got any advice on what author is best?

A: Best place to go is free and great bunch of people there. www.nastyz28.com Its an all second gen camaro site/message board with everything you could want to know and more

Q: i have 1980 camaro rs how do i put 1970 front end on it? really needing help?
hey yall i got a 1980 chevy camaro RS and dont like the way the the front nose looks and im wanting to change out the front to a 1970 how would i do that and what would i need? any advice is helpfull and also prices and all thanks

A: it would be cheaper and easier to buy a 1970 camaro. it takes about 2-3 grand in labor and fabrication to do so at the very least.

Q: I like drag racing its what want to be when i grow up?
I was in chicago for the summer i went drag strip call route 66 it was awesome a 1970 chevy camaro went about 10 seconds flat I hope the kids who are a big fan drag racing can talk to me Brandon lee

A: it’s fairly easy to get started in drag racing. start small at first. get a car (or truck like me…lol), hop it up, and go on an open drag night at your local drag strip. that’s where you get practice and experience. it’s easy to get started, but costs a lot.

Q: will cops stop you for side pipes on your muscle car?
I want to get a 1970-1981 Chevy camaro and i’d like to put Shelby cobra style sidepipes on it, but it’s gonna be loud, this i already know, but are cops willing to let things slip if it’s a collector car because i see plenty of rods with side pipes out there, and cops never seem to have a problem with them.
Anybody have an idea?

A: it depends on the state your in

they need to keep EGT low

they must have a proper cytylst converter

i cant wait to see it good luck

Q: How much can I as for a 1970 Chevy Custom 20 4X4 pick up?
The truck is in pretty bad shape, but its complete. It only has one dent ( a pretty big one on the side of the bed).

I dont want to get ripped off like a friend of mine. He sold an old camaro for a few hundred bucks and later found out that it was a classic. At the time he didnt understand why the buyer drove about 200 miles the same day to pick up the car.
its got a 350.
it has disk brakes too.

i dont think its a short bed, but i also dont think it the original bed.
eldorado…i say he got ripped off because it turned out that the car was worth thousands as it was. i cant remember how much, but my friend did not know what he had and the guy did not say anything. but oh well.

A: Viajero, you have a 3/4 ton (C20 stands for 3/4 ton,C30 is a one ton, and C/10 is a half ton) Does the truck’s 4X4 work? 3 or 4 spd?AIr, pwr st, pwr brks, pwr wdws? Is there a piece of sheetmetel that is not rusted thru? Is it a 2 bbl or 4 bbl carb? There are a lot of this model trucks still around and GM still carries parts for them Is the Glass perfect, no milkiness or cracks? If it runs and , whatever is not working or rusted thru or if the 4X4 works, someone might give a Grand for it. Your friend’s Camaro may have had a couple good panels, or the dash was good, or possibly the glass was good, could be why the guy drove 200 mi. to buy it for a parts car, as I have done on quite a few cars. I gave $200 for a rustbucket 1950 Ford just to get the chrome off of it back in 1987. So just cause your friend sold a Camaro “Classic”( they make complete body kits for those too) may not mean he got “ripped off”. I have a 1969 C/10 Chevy truck, long bed and am interested in a CST truck for the tach and bench seat with an armrest

Q: what the difference?
between a 1968 mercury comet and a 1970 chevy camaro?

A: The 1968 Mercury Comet is a fine automobile and will go down in history as a collectable treasure.

Now, have you ever heard of the Dodge Superbee? Well, the 1970 Chevy Camaro is a Firebird Wannabee.

Q: car help…?
im looking for a car that looks similar to one of these
[ya know...the classic cars]

1963 Mercury Comet
1967-1968 Chevy Impala
1967 Mustang
1970 Chevy Camaro

but i need it to be more updated.
more economically better.

says my parents lol.

have they done that or no?
it’d really help if someone could name cars that look like that but have been remade like for 2008 or 2007 or something.
or the 1973 Dodge Charger

p.s. im looking for cars that look like that or closely similar.

A: Have you seen the new camaro? nice. But id stay away from firstyear models. I had a 05 mustang, loved it, but had some minor defects that have been since worked out in the later years.

as for your arguement, you can tell the Ps that an older model is easier to work on, the parts are cheap and you will learn a lot to work on it…

Q: Muscle cars chevy dodge 70’s?
What do yall think about the 1970 dodge challenger r/t vs the 69 chevy camaro? What are the pros and cons of both vehicles? powerwise too.

A: The Challenger R/T is slightly rarer and consequently will be more expensive. About $30,000-$40,000+ for a decent example regardless of options.

A nice, non original ‘69 Camaro can be found with just about any Chevy small block or big block for $20,000-$25,000.

The Camaros are more commonly found with engine performance upgrades than the Challenger. Mopar guys are generally more purists than Chevy guys.

Even a Challenger with a stock 440 Magnum is a really powerful car! They’ve got 375 horsepower and a stump pulling 480lb ft of torque right out of the factory. But it is common to find ‘69 Camaros with really nasty small blocks like 355s, 383 strokers, and even 400s. Some guys even put 454 big blocks in them(which they never cam with), and once and a while you’ll find one with a 396.
