1965 mustang for sale
A great and must read article: 1965 mustang for sale
Q: There is a 1965 Mustang Coupe for sale and I was wondering how fast do you think it would go?
It has a V6 302 in it what am I looking at for performance and speed?
engine edit V8*
A: It must be a new engine. There were no 302’s in 65. they had 289’s. And the 302 is a v8.
Faster then you need to go
Q: I have a 1965 Ford Mustang for sale, what can I expect to get for it?
It has the straight 6, factory A/C, automatic transmission, console, 42,000 original miles, original interior, one repaint of original color and aftermarket Dayton spoke wheels. Also has and Alpine in dash CD with Sony speakers. Best of all, it’s an original Southern California (now in Western AZ) car so it’s had no rust ever.
What should I ask for it?
Also, where is a good place to advertise it BESIDES CRAIGSLIST!
I had it listed at $7900 on Craigslist and got several responses but some jerk kept removing my ad for no legitimate reason.
A: auto traders and similar will only let you know what other people are asking, not what they’re selling for.
searching ebay’s completed auctions will at least let you see what something has sold [or not sold] for.
Q: Is there such thing as a 1965 Mustang Cobra?
I found a real nice mustang for sale and im not sure if this is a original grill and parts. It says it is a 1965 Ford Mustang Cobra. But me and others aren’t sure if they were made.
I found a real nice mustang for sale and im not sure if this is a original grill and parts. It says it is a 1965 Ford Mustang Cobra. But me and others aren’t sure if they were made. Also the car was dark blue on the outside and had white interior. It was a coupe not a fastback. Also it had a 289 under the hood. Originally it had a 4 speed transmision but the owner took it out and had a 5 speed put in.
A: uhh no
Q: does any one have a mustang or a impala for sale?
I want a mustang from 1965-1969 or an impala the same years im from kansas i would like it to be not that far away. Tell price thanks.
A: No
Q: need help buying 65 mustang?
hey friends, I plan to travel several hundred miles to look at a 1965 mustang thats for sale. I know (remember) very little about them , this was the first car (simular) that i ever owned in 1966 (darn how time flies). the photos i received look fanastic. red coupe with 289ci 2brl carb auto. it was advertised to be in almost? show condition, and redone about 2 years ago, no rust. i am not a dealer, reseller show person etc. and really don’t know exactly what to look for. i plan to keep this car (if bought) and pass it on to one of my children. i can use and would really appreciate any advise you could pass on, SOUNDS like an honest person that i have been talking to (current owner) but who knows. did the 65’s come with A/C vents in dash are were they all the hang-on type? how is rack & pinion steering different than the original? how do i check the compression and what should it be? what would be a fair (average) price if its in show or almost show?? condition. Thanks in advance
A: If it has rack and pinion then the entire front suspension has been replaced with something that is not standard and may be difficult to impossible to find parts for unless you know who made it. Also if that has been done then it is far from being “nearly in show condition”. All the 65’s & 66’s had hang on AC’s. If it has dash vents then it has been modified to accept one of several aftermarket units out there. Again, you need to know who made it for parts purposes. Take an icepick with you and use it under the car to check the floor boards for rust through. The car is a unibody which means it has a subframe up front for the engine and one at the rear for the rear axle. They are held together by the floorpans. Rusted through floor pans are a MAJOR problem. There’s nothing on the cars which can’t be repaired/replaced. All it takes is $$$$$$$$$$. Lots of it. I just finished restoreing a ‘65 coupe with my grandson. We stripped it down to the body shell and rebuilt or replaced everything on it. Two years and $20,000+ later it looks magnificient. Not show condition as we built it to drive, not show. Has a lot of goodies it didn’t come with. They’re nice cars but you really need to look closely and maybe even see if you can find someone in a local Mustang club, familiar with the old ones, to help you evaluate it. I have a, mostly original, ‘68 that I drive. Good luck and good hunting.
Q: 1965-1966 mustang coupe questions?
There are two of these on sale on craigslist for it seems like a good deal
($2500 each) and im give him $1200 and a xbox 360 with lots of stuff.
I am just trying to figure out what one is better for first car and a better deal(im planning on a driveable project)
so basically ones maroon and one is white
the white one is all orignal with a 289 3 speed auto(wich i believe is a V8?) the cars interior is not the best will need to paint and tires and the works and it defintily has rust in the usual places(AKA in the rear quarters floor panel trunk etc.) BUT it does run!
the maroon one he said is a 302 modified (so im taking it it was 6cyl engine swap) wich could be bad becuase the other impotant parts for the 8 cyl car might not have been put in it too(suspension etc)
has basically no rust(except one spot that can be sanded out) the interior isnt to bad but will need paint and also it does not run but doesnt need much too run
so what one is the better deal here i think the white one but i has lots of rust but it is all orignal. i dotn know too much about these cars so please help me out
do you know how to read the white orignal car runs
no i can do basic mechanics but im 15 my dad will help me though he used to have old muscle cars
the problem is the one with practically no rust doesnt run
and also it might have been a orignal 6cyl with a V8 swap and i have heard of lots of problems with these cars and the poor handling and suspension and overall uality since 6yl bodies were not built for v8s
A: First off the 6 and 8 bodies are the same, it’s the mechanicals that are different… So it depends on how much of it was changed over to v8 specs that really counts..Second check the vin to determine for sure, the last LETTER is the engine, T and U are sixes, if you have those look for 4 bolt wheels and small brakes.. If they did the swap with wheel adapters, that’s no good either.. it must have all the v8 components, like trans, rearend and brakes and wheels.. If it’s done right it can make a nice car, but don’t put to much money in it, some buyers but a lot of stock in the right engine code..
and ask your Dad for his opinion, he knows more than you think..
Q: fender mustang question regarding parents?
i have a friend who’s selling his old 1965 mustang , and i want to buy it. he’s selling it for 275 but trust me ive played this guitar its not a ripoff. i have a mexican made stratocaster, and a gretsch electromatic g5120 that i sold half of my stuff at a garage sale to get money for. how do i convince my parents to let me buy this mustang?
A: If you’re paying for it, tell them that it’s a good investment and that its a great deal. If they still say no, I’d buy it anyway. can’t pass up an offer like that.
Q: Where can I buy a working replica of Kurt Cobain’s ‘65 Fender Jaguar?
I am looking into buying a new guitar and the one that I really want is a replica of Kurt’s 1965 Fender Mustang. I have looked everywhere and can’t find one for sale. Please help.
A: Search for Fuller’s Vintage Guitar in Houston. They specialize in this sort of thing. They have a 40s model Fender for over 10k
Q: Obtaining title for inheritied classic vehicle?
I inherited my father’s 1965 Ford Mustang when he passed in 2000. It sat on his property up until recently, and has too many repairs for me to keep up with effeciently. I want to sell the vehicle, but we possess neither a title nor a bill of sale. My father owned the vehicle for over 10 years before he died, but we have nothing to prove this.
The vehicle has a very old tag issued in Alabama, but I live in Oklahoma. I’m not sure how this affects getting a title.
How can I obtain a legal title or bill of sale so that I can sell the Mustang?
A: Many DMV offices in the US will make it hard on you if you apply for a lost title.
Some will want you to put up a bond (your own money) that the state will keep for years to cover them in case the vehicle turns up as stolen.
Once a set number of years has passed, they will finally send you the title, and even then it could be a salvage title – hurting the value of your car.
There is a way around this for cars older than 1974:
http://www.broadwaytitle.com/
I know many people who have used their services, and it is a great way to get a real title for your car in a short amount of time.
It is really simple – taking advantage of the fact that Alabama did not require titles for cars before 1974. If you buy an old car from Alabama, all you will get is a bill of sale and proof of registration (license plates). The DMV in your state most likely will have to accept this and issue you a new title.
Broadway will supply you with these documents for a fee. It is a loophole – but also very legal.
Make sure you double check that your state’s DMV will accept a bill of sale and registration from Alabama (most of them still do) – and you will be set.
Good luck!

I don’t have paper documentation verifying the mileage but the original interior in almost perfect condition with no real signs of wear is a good indicator.
A: Do you have proof verifying the the mileage? It’s hard to believe it has that few miles, most of these have turned the odo over a time or two.. If you can, that will help… With that few miles, it should look like a new car..and you should be able to get $10k out of it.. try the Classic Auto Trader, Ford and Mustang edition.. even Ebay can bring you the bucks..
