Q: what kind of engine would be best for a 1967 Ford Mustang Fastback?
ok. so im planning to get a 1967 ford mustang fastback in the future. I wanna what kind of engine would be the best, like for example i want the car to kind of like rock in place, like shake around. I dont know much about cars and engines, also, around hoe much would the engine cost? id really appreciate your guys’s answers.
A: I like for old school the 390 ci up too a 428 cobrajet. get a 500 plus lift cam, aprx 250 durration I have a merc 410 engine (390 bore 428 stroke) its punched out 30, running a 513/ 292 durration , dont remember the split numbers, it is running 427 ford heads, 427 long tube exhaust manifolds (cast iron nascar) lemans rods. ballanced all this and more in a 1957 ford f100. when I idle at a stop the entire truck shakes. im running flow masters right off the collectors. the 410 was fords special engine for Merc wagons for 2 years only. a little more power than a 390. with the performance heads etc. I estimate hp at aprx 530 and torque outragious.
Q: What is the best type of motor oil for a 1967 Ford Mustang?
I just came into possession of a 1967 Ford Mustang but have no clue about the car and wanted to know what the best type of oil to use on an older car?
A: A 10w-30 oil of your choice.
Q: Would a 1967 Ford Mustang Coupe be a good first car for a 16 year old?
I am 16 and I really want a 1967 Ford Mustang Coupe. It is my dream car. I found one for cheap and I really want to get it, but I’m not sure if it would be a good choice as my first car. So, help? [=
When I said it was cheap, I meant it as that it isn’t as much as most 1967’s would be.
And I understand that it would most likely take some fixing up. I am all for that.
A: I would have to say that it is probably not a good idea. The biggest problem you will have is reliability. Older cars were never as reliable as they are now, and being 42 years old is only going to make that worse. A classic Mustang that is “cheap” is going to cost you in the long run.
Get something a little more modern for your 1st car. There are plenty of years left to own Mustangs, and when you have more money you will be able to afford one that is in good condition.
Q: I am looking for a 1967 ford mustang?
I am wanting to buy a 1967 Ford Mustang. I am trying to figure out what exactly I am looking for. I want a fully loaded 67′. What options does a 67′ fully loaded mustang have?
I would only look at coupes. No fast backs, or convertables.
What does a 1967 California Special have for options?
A: Here you go.

Q: Where can I find a car shop in Los Angeles, CA that can do a ground up restoration on a 1967 Ford Mustang GT?
Im thinking of buying this 1967 Ford Mustang GT from a friend. The only problem is the car is a complete dust bunny!!! Nothing works and the body looks like its been chewed up and spat back out. Lol. But it is one of my dream cars and i have no problem paying for it to be restored…im just not comfortable shipping it halfway across the country.
Any suggestions will do. Thanx.

Q: where can i find a turbocharger for my 1967 ford mustang?
i have 1967 289 ford mustang and i am lookin to buy a turbocharger for it..i have no idea where i can find one at…i know they make them..i need like a web address or something..thank you sooo much
A: I wouldn’t go with the turbo charger on a v8. I would go with a blower get better results.
Q: how to put a v8 in a 1967 ford mustang coupe?
im not sure were to start really.
im buying a 1967 ford mustang coupe and i want to put a v8 in it.
i need some direction on where to start on something like this.
any ideas?(:
A: You are lucky. Mustangs were redesigned for the 67 year/model so the big block engines would fit. That means any small or big block wil fit. (OHV only). The easiest way is to go to a junk yard and get all of the parts you need, engine mounts, cross member, etc. Keep an eye on that “donor car” because odds are you will have to go back a couple of times before the project is finished.
Just a tip, drill a hole through the hood hinges and into the hood web (not through the top of the hood!) then when you put the hood back on use these holes and two drill bits to align the hood. This will save much flustration.
Q: how much is a 1967 ford mustang gta worth?
how much is a 1967 ford mustang gta worth ? in general terms decent condition? please specify which currency you mean
cheers
A: While it’s a nice collectible it isn’t worth $100,000 U.S. as some believe. To get a reasonable idea go to http://www.nadaguides.com . Click on “classic” cars and then on “collectibles”. Depending on the body style, the engine, and other options it can run close to $30,000 U.S. The biggest thing though, with any collectible car is, “It’s only worth what someone will pay”.
Q: Is a 1967 ford mustang hardtop roof compatible with a 1966 ford mustang?
I have a 1967 ford mustang and all I need now to finally be done with restoring it is the hardtop, so one of my boys has a old 1966 ford mustang laying in his yard and he was willing to cut the the hardtop off of it and give it to me so I can finish my “1967 ford mustang”. appreciate the help thank you……(had to be very specific)
A: There’s too many variables in order to get the 66 to fit. Width, length, rear sails, window curvature, etc
This is not a good idea. Better to shop outside to other venues/towns to solve your problem.
Q: what is the best engine for a 1967 ford mustang gt fastback?
can i put a 4.6-liter SOHC V8 Engine in a 1967 ford mustang gt fastback?..
or whats the best engine for a 1967 ford mustang gt fastback?
tnx,,
A: FIRST THING-upgrade brakes!!! THEN- Depends on what you wanna do…#1-go computerized for best mileage with power, #2-do wheelstands every gear, or #3- GO FAST, burn gas! #1-You could put in an SOHC 4.6,*BUT* a DOHC would be better- you’ll have to install the engine electric, also( might as well use the tranny, too!) find a place to mount the computer, and make mount brackets(probably). And get dummy sensors for the smog If you wanna go brute power, #2-it IS (sorta) true that “there’s no substitute for cubes”( a big block/FE) but then, that’s just SORTA !-#3- I’ll put my 289 against an FE(or a 351Cleveland) any day!!
Q: Would you say a 1967 ford mustang is a good first car for a 15 year old girl?
Ive been saving my money since the week after my 14th bithday for the perfect car (or as perfect as you can get on a part-time minimum wage salary.) And i’ve got about 15 grand right now. My 16h b-day is in a few weeks and I wanna get a black ‘67 mustang. I already had my twin broter(he biult HIS car from scratch. It’s awesome) check the stang-in-question out. He says the car’s in good shape. But now I can’t help but wonder, should I really get this for my FIRST CAR? I mean it’s a pretty big deal and I don’t want to regret buying it 2 month’s from now. I guess my question is, do you think I should get the mustang? Have any of you had any expitence with a ‘67 mustang? If so do you recammend it?
Thanks in advance for your help.
A: Im 16 male that is such a badass car i was looking into old mustang to! But i live in Houston and dad finally made me realize how bad it would be. First a car like that is powerful and heavy and hard to control no power steering or anything. . Then gas is HORRIBLE. Repairs will come allot. Is it stick or Auto because if it stick Good luck going up ramps and such. and the worst reason no Airbags and its RWD unless you are a REALLY good rookie driver you are gunna slide off the road in rain. Its a dream car of many people but more of a collectors item Nice car when your 50 but not 16 But if you think you can handle it go for it
Q: how to remove a gas pedal from a 1967 ford mustang?
my mustang is missing the accelerator rod seal that rests on the firewall to prevent wind from coming into the car and i cannot figure out how to remove the pedal screw that holds the pedal on so i can replace it. does anyone know how to do it?
also are there any good places where i can buy a grommit for it?
A: much easier to cut the new seal and put it around rod and into fire wall will serve the same purpose once in place can’t tell it was ever split i did the same thing on a 65 falcon which is same setup.
Q: How much would a 1967 Ford Mustang GT 390 go for these days?
Its still has its original engine and its still in top running condition..
30k huh? Not bad, considering that the dealer is only asking for P250,000 (that’s Philippine Pesos, about $5,000)..Thought it needs a better paint job and the interior needs changing..Do you guys think its a good enough offer?
A: The 1967 Mustang big block is one of the most sought after collectible cars on the market.
It’s auction value will depend entirely on the option packages, the condition of the car and the originality.
The auction prices for a show condition original will start at $50,000 and could go much higher if it’s the right car at the right auction with the right buyers bidding.
Q: I am interested in someday buying a 1967 Ford Mustang Fastback and wondering if anyone knew where to start?
Any information on where to look, things to keep in mind, or reasonable price ranges would be greatly appreciated.
A: You can check local papers, auto trade publications or even auction sites such as ebay. Price on such a purchase really depends on if you want to get one already resorted or if you are looking to do the project yourself. It could run you anywhere from a few hundred dollars to tens of thousands just depending on what condition you purchase the vechile in.
