Q: Where can I find a used Subaru Wrx for sale under $10,000?
I want to buy a used Subaru Wrx Impreza but I don’t want to spend no more than $10,000. Are there any used ones for under that price that are for sale.
A: Check

Q: I am looking for a misubishi lancer evolution8 or a subaru impreza wrx for sale?
i am looking for any of those to cars between the years of 2004-2005 for sale In Houston, Tx

There is also vehix.com and cars.com
Q: Why are there more new Mitsubishi Evo 9 for sale than the Subaru WRX STI?
I am in central FL, and I notice that dealers still have several NEW 06 Mitsubishi EVO 9s. It’s much harder finding a new 2007 Subaru WRX STI, since they get sold quicker. I am a prospective buyer and would like to have some input on this.
Why is this? Does the EVO have other ‘achilles heels’ other than the dreaded premature clutch wear? Is the STI the better car for the street and occasional track? The EVO is praised in all magazines and people as ‘the car to have’, yet the Subaru STI is the ‘hard car to find’. Can anyone shed light on the subject? Thanks
A: Ranging in popularity between both cars its hard to make a choice, though i’ve driven both and I can make a educated guess at least.
The 2007 wrx sti model is fast, handles great, and can still take you around town while feeling normal, while when I drove the evo it was a totally different feeling, it was FAST, and had a bit better handling, but for a daily driver I don’t think i’d be happy with it.
The other reason that the 07 sti is going to be hard to find right now is because the 08 model has been skipped in preparation for a 09 model release of the sti, meaning that all those people who would have bought an 08 this year are scrambling to get their hands on the limited stock of 07 sti that are left over, not to mention many people find the 07 much more aesthetically pleasing than the 08 wrx (and in relation the possible 09 sti) causing a jump at that car.
I’ll put it this way to sum it up, if you love to take your car to the track or always out to play in it the evo is a great car, but if you’re a daily drive commuter with a passion for some offroad fun when you’re not busy the sti is for you.
Q: I found a 2006 Subaru WRX STI For Sale For $20,000 Should I Buy IT?!?!!?!?
Everything seems good about the deal, the only issue for me is the car hit a curb going like 70 and sheered off both back wheels, the car was Completely Fixed at the Subaru Dealership ($9,000) and runs fine now, It has 14,000 miles on it and Has Full Warranty 5 years 60,000 miles from Dec 2005. and Bumper to Bumper 3 years 30,000 miles. Gimmie some advice…….. I’m thinkin yeh…….
A: I say go for it as long as you don’t plan on keeping it much longer than the warranty period. That way you have documented proof the car was fixed “right” by the dealership and you should not have problems with claims.
Other than that, you might find out the car is completely fine in the next 46,000 miles. If there was a problem with strut angles (eg: camber, toe), differential compromising or anything of the sort it would show up in that time. Just realize you will not get much money out of the car when you go to sell it again with the major repair showing up on the car’s records.
Q: going to buy a subaru and convert it to sti. need your help.?
Its hard to find original STIs in my country for a reasonable price. mostly due to gov tax. and even hard to locate a good subaru for sale. Most STIs in my country are conversion from impreza to STI. I have several options. I found a 96 WRX for sale. I could buy it and convert it to STI (I guess!, i dont know much about subaru models and specs!)
and also i found some 99 impreza for cheaper than the WRX 96. And I heard the local angent for subaru is doing conversions also!
96 WRX is more costly than the 99 impreza. what kind of changes do i have to make if im going to convert WRX to sti?
and is it worth going for the 96 WRX instead of the 99 impreza and converting it to STI?
Thanks in advance!
A: first off, going for the wrx over the imprezza isnt necessary, this is because you are going to be converting it to an sti anyway. in order to do this your going to have to swap out the engine for a 2.5L and swap out the transmission for an sti 6 speed. also you would have to upgrade the suspension, wheels, and exhaust, but all that does not matter if you plan on putting after market parts on as well. I’m sure their is some things i am missing but honestly, if you dont plan on doing all the installs yourself, youd just be better off buying an sti if you could find one because with all the parts AND labor, the finish price would be upwards of what an sti would have costed you in the first place
Q: Lookin for a ” Hood and Fenders” for a 2003 Subaru WRX.?
If u have fenders or a hood for a 03 wrx that are for sale
please leave me your email or phone number i can reach you by.
THank you.
I am located in Sacramento.
A: Subaru WRX parts can be located at http://www.car-part.com
Q: How much does 2004ish Subaru impreza wrx Sti engine go for?
I was looking to drop the sti motor in my 2002 impreza rs. I dont wanna upgrade to the sti. Just want the engine but can’t find any for sale. Over 100,000 is fine with me btw. Just let me know where to get one and the price range if possible. Thank you so much
A: A full long block can be had for about $3500. You do realize you can’t just drop it in though. You need all the exhaust parts and intake parts and the ECU and wiring harness. Then you need to pull your dash and remove all the wiring and replace it with the STI one. I mean every little wire in the car. Or you can probably have it done for about $1500.
Q: How low can I bargain the price down for a 2007 Subaru WRX Limited?
Sales reps look a bit hungary right now. It seems no one is buying. MSRP is around $28k.
A: Look on line for the best price you can get and that is less then the MSRP. Call or stop by your dealer there local to you and ask them if they will meet or beat the price that you can buy the car on line. Most dealers will do some thing they want your business.
I will tell you I saw where some one has suggested that you check in other states, not a bad Idea but remember that when you bring it to your state it may not have saved you anything, you have to pay to have it transported to your location or dealer near you, then you are going to have to pay the title in your state and the taxes for your state and dealer prep, these additional fees are not in the price that you might get on line so make sure that you weigh the total package before you buy.
Q: Higher Mileage Subaru Impreza / WRX?
To own a Subaru WRX (not STi) has been a dream of mine.I have been looking for some used models for sale, I prefer the 2005 or older range.
There is currently an ‘02 model that im looking at, but according to the website, it’s got 107,250 miles on it…and its priced at $6,995…
Question is: Does anybody know of any higher mileage issues with the Subaru outside of general knowledge? The wife currently drives a Chevy Lumina that’s about 200k miles and still going strong, and is my only basis of comparison. Never owned a Subi.
Thanks
A: It really depends on the maintenance history. If maintained properly, there is no reason it shouldn’t last another 100,000. I had 110,000 miles on my first 02 and when I sold it, it still ran perfect. And it was heavily modified and driven hard on a daily basis so it was tested. But there is a risk in buying any used car so make sure you see the full maintenance record and make sure the timing belt was changed. It’s due at 105,000 miles and if it fails, the engine will be ruined so it’s important. If it’s in good shape, that seems like a reasonable price and the other good things about Subaru is, there are so many around and they all seem to share a lot of parts so used parts are easy to find.
Q: 2004 subaru impreza wrx sti (Rev. e)?
Ok, now, I was told by a couple people over the internet that the 1st sti impreza model available for sale in the u.s.a was the 2004 subaru impreza wrx sti(Rev. E), which I believe is the one with the aggresive head lights, but yet, I’ve seen earlier sti models(the bugeye one), which I believe is a 2001 model. Can somebody explain this to me, and post up pics of the 2004 subaru impreza wrx sti (Rev. E)? Thanks.
A: The STI has been available since about 94 in Japan. We got the bugeye in 01 as an 02 model here in the US and the STI did first come here in late 03 as an 04. I’m pretty retarded when it comes to putting links so try looking through NASIOC.com. There are so many pictures of every model in every color so you should be able to find just what you are looking for.
Q: 2002 Subaru Impreza???
Im 17 and im currently in the market for my first car. My neighbor recently put his 2002 Subaru Impreza(not wrx) up for sale for $6k. It has 90,000 miles and no accidents. I test drove it and I was very happy. What do you think overall? and will insurance be too much? Thanks.
Any idea of insurace cost?
A: Far too much money for a car with 90,000 miles and 8 years old. $3500 is more realistic.
Q: 02 subaru wrx, what is this worth??
2 Previous owners
73k miles super clean stock black paint on black and charcoal interior!beautiful black/gunmetal 17″ ADR rims on coilovers, set an agressive low stance, and keep you stuck to the pavement. inside, the alpine dvd + extra monitor mounted in center console keep you entertained with music or movies!
However, you might not even want music when you’re listening to the exhaust note of the < one-piece freeflow HEADERS/ UP-PIPE, frontmount INTERCOOLER, BOV, and race STRAIGHTPIPE exhaust coupled to a stromung muffler, all working in unison. ,
leave everyone in the dust looking at your custom taillights as well! also, with the turboxs utec computer management system installed, you can create different computer programs for street, as well as race!
Currently, the stock exhaust and stock ecu are being used in case of smog, and will be included with sale. also, smog will also be the responsibility of buyer!
$11K OBO.
BONUS! I will include a GReddy GRacer front lip with
A: If it’s been taken care and tuned properly for the supporting mods then yes, that is a great deal. On the same note I would be very wary of why he’s only asking 11K for it with all those parts. It says he has a Utec EMS, but I would ask questions like “who was it tuned by” and “for what parameters” if he just says he mapped it himself “it’s easy” I would shy away from it. Like any car the best thing you can do is research as much as you can on the vehicle, finding out what problems they are prone to have.
For early year WRX’s always take it for a test drive and pay attention to the transmission: does it shift and gate properly? is there any shudder or grind? does it stick in a specific gear? does the clutch slip? if so it could lean toward the fact that it’s been driven hard/ improperly. WRX’s are known for their “glass” transmissions if not taken care of.
Secondly, listening. These things are known to throw rods and eating bearings if oil temperature or pressure is left unmantained, even then when the oil light comes on it’s usually too late. Subaru’s are known for noisy valvetrains, but search Youtube for “WRX Rod Knock” on what you need to listen for. A new 2.0l shortblock will run you 1500+other parts+plus labour(15-20hrs or so), an STI 2.5l block about 2000, causing that awesome deal to suddenly not look so great.
The way he’s describing it, it comes across as a pure performance car that’s “FAST FAST FAST” driven hard and more then likely put away wet. Take it for a mechanical inspection if possible, and like stated before the best thing you can do is research till your head explodes. Yes 11K is a nice price for one, but that’s still 11g that you could be paying for a paperweight. Yahoo is probably the wrong place to be asking about a tuned WRX the only place you should be looking for info and answers on a WRX is www.NASIOC.com (just please for the love of god use the search button first)
I myself own a 02 Bugeye MBP in color with mileage higher then that one, second owner, mint inside out, and runs like it rolled off the showroom floor; but I didn’t get it without a bit of patience and a plethora of knowledge. They’re really fun cars and last forever even under spirited driving IF taken care of. So I say go check it out. It may be a case of his loss your gain, but if not you better have the knowledge to be able to tell the difference.
Q: Is there such a thing as a 2005 Subaru Impreza WRX with automatic transmission?
I am in need of a new car, after the transmission on my camaro gave away recently. I am looking at a 2005 subaru impreza wrx. I have looked online and at local dealerships, but have only found stick shift ones. I don’t know how to drive stick, and would prefer an automatic. I have a few questions:
1. Do they exist in automatic?
2. Are they good in the snow?
3. If they don’t have them at some local dealers, can the dealers get them from other dealers?
4. Do you know of any for sale around area code 48176?
Thanks
A: The 05 came in auto if you live in the US. And don’t listen to the little street racer bitches about the auto. They are just saying shit to hear them selves talk and don’t realize to most people a car is transportation. Get what you want. My first WRX was an auto and after the reflash, it was faster than the 5 speed and the auto has a much better AWD system too so if you do any snow driving, auto’s are better. One suggestion though. If you can swing a few more bucks, I would look for an 06 rather than an 05. The 2.5ltr engine has a little better peak torque and less lag. And they came with much better brakes too so it might be worth checking out. Maybe check the classifieds on NASIOC.com to see if anyone is selling one.
Q: how many miles is too much to buy used? WRX?
i see a lot of cars with 90,000+ miles for sale around the same price.
i’m looking at a 2002/2003 Subaru impreza WRX. What is too much to consider purchasing used? 80k? 90k?
A: That really depends On the maintenance record of the vehicle. and Alot of people do not know this but if the vehicle was run long miles on the highway it is better for the engine than the stop and go in the city. But I would look at somthing with not much more that 75000. If you can find one.
Q: Should I buy a WRX or an Evo?
I have been looking around for a 2003-2005 Mitsubishi Evo with low miles for a few months now. There are not any for sale within 100 miles where I live. Today I found a 2007 Subaru WRX (not STI) in my town and its a good deal and its in good shape. I have almost decided to give up on my Evo dream and go with the WRX. I just want some other people opinions on the Evo VIII and the 2007 WRX. Help me out.
Thanks
Edit: The WRX comes with Tien Springs, Perrin Turbo inlet pipe, 18′ bronze colored wheels along with stock wheels.
He is offering a bigger turbo, intercooler and some other performance parts for a few hundred bucks more.
A: Well the Evo over a regular WRX definately. If it was an Evo or and STi then you can’t go wrong with either.
